The place

Salix's living room.

Every small town worth its water tower has one room where everything happens — birthdays, harvest talk, Husker games, and the argument about whose tenderloin is best in Iowa. In Salix, that room is Walker's.

Travelers find us by accident a mile off the interstate and act like they discovered gold. Locals just call it going up town. Either way you get the same thing: real food made in a real kitchen, a cold one, and somebody who'll talk to you.

The old brick room has been a Salix fixture for generations — Michelle's kept the lights on for the last ten years, and the neon still says OPEN.
